☼ What’s so significant about the number 26?

07/26/08

I can’t let this pass without blogging about what happened today. I know it’s so corny, baduy, jologs like what my friend say.

AKO: Ui, nakita ko siya.. (kilig.. smile..)

FRIEND: Sino? sino na naman yan?

AKO: Si childhood… (pause)

FRIEND: BADUY! Ang baduy mo!

Yeah I know, it’s so baduy. Corny. But what the heck today is July 26. I saw him after 9 months and it means a lot to me. You know, I’ve been wishing ever since na makita ko siya. And today, it’s so unexpected. Super unexpected!! Nagulat talaga ako. Hahahaha… And guess what, it’s 26. Hmmmm… what’s so significant about the number 26? I can remember nung 2nd year high school ako, he tries to call me that afternoon. Oh, i mean he missed called. And the date is December 26!! FREAKKKKKKKYYYYYY!!! What’s so significant about the number 26? Ba’t parang lagi siyang sumusulpot tuwing 26?? AAHHHHHHHH!!!! I’m really puzzled kaya what I did, just right now is to search more on the number 26. And here I’m going to put some interesting facts.

  • 26 is the most Sacred Number in the Bible, because the Name of the Lord JHVH, pronounced Yahweh or Jehova, has value 26.
    The letter values of the Tetragrammaton (4-letter name) from the Qabbalah (Jewish alphabetical number juggling) add up to 26 like so:

Yod = hand = 10
Heh = window = 5
Vau = nail = 6
Heh = window = 5
J + H + V + H = 26

  • Mathematically 26 is interesting because it is the only number right inbetween a square and a cube, as Fermat long ago conjectured.
    So 5*5 + 1 = 3*3*3 - 1 = 26 can be proven to be the only number p satisfying the equations:

p - m2= 1
n3 - p = 1

  • And because 26 also lies inbetween the two squares 16 and 36 (with a difference of 10) the Sacred Number of JHVH to our biblical surprise can righteously be called a “mirror number”. Or, as the kabbalist might say, 26 is the number inbetween windows.

  • The Chemical Element Iron has an atomic number of 26.

  • The 26 ganglions of the sympathetic system of the Human body.

  • The 26 letters of the Latin alphabet.

  • The 26 letters of the English Alphabet.

  • In the tarot the 26th card is the Page of Wands. The explanation of this card is as follows:

“By fixing his attention on the flowering wand before him the young Page appears to be contemplating his power. He knows his inner strength, but has not yet been called upon the exercise it. 26/8 is a karmic number. There are 26 letters in our alphabet, the extent of our ability to communicate verbally and through the written word.”

This, in my opinion, represents the aspect of intellect and logic.
